My hobby has been, and continues to be, building scale model aeroplanes. The focus of those projects was the development of taxing and funktional solutions in reliable parts where I was confronted with technical and functional issues requiring practical solutions. This required a deep understanding and engagement with the structure, materials and needed tools. The aeroplanes were reverse engineered in the CAD by using original construction plans and pictures. To ensure the most efficient weight for the model aeroplanes I used balsa or play wood. The only exceptions were the retractable landing gears and other relevant parts in the structure, which were made by aluminium or carbon fibre.
